High Performance Academy has no intention of signing players, but prepare them so, to be suitable for entry into the discipline of professional clubs.

Get ready to jump into professional football. That is the goal of the players, who participate in a professional program (MPEP), the main product of Marcet football university, which has a limited number of places per year. Its full duration, 10 months, includes high performance sports training, academic study and stay in the center of Barcelona, with the possibility of more flexible time and general conditions according to the needs of each student and his family.

Every year, the professional program has more than 200 students from all over the world, who come to Spain, to improve their level of play and compete in the showcase, so that they can reach elite football.

MPEP is a demanding program, which has two or three daily training sessions and a high-quality competition calendar, which includes clashes with the best academies in Spanish and European football. But all this is in no way detrimental to academic education. Because if the life of a footballer is very short, the life of a former footballer is very long. For this reason, it is essential, that a successful player is also a cultured person with academic training, which will enable him to build a professional future after his sports career.

Football and studies always go hand in hand. In fact, in this academy, academic education is not only highly recommended, but it is also mandatory. The stars of the Hall of Fame are professional football players and students, who achieved success during their studies. Therefore, each player has different training options depending on their age, country of origin or your abilities. Any study is good, if it serves to complement the player's training and makes him a complete person and ready for the future.

Professional the program takes up the entire school year, from September to June. However, it is also possible to follow it for shorter times. From Marcet, we recommend concluding a contract on 10, six or three months, but participation in other time periods can also be considered, while the minimum and basic unit is one month.

Students from 14 years old, they complete a program oriented towards professional football and are individually invited, to check their development in an individual way. "It is an opportunity to learn new things," goalkeeper Alfonso Aragón explains, who recently enrolled in the High Performance course. "Here you see football in a different way. It's an experience, that will open your mind, and that is ultimately what matters most. The aim of the High Technification courses at the Marcet Football University is, so that students understand the concepts of collective technique and master the tactical movements in the development of the game, they were able to automate elements of individual technique, which allows you to improve your idea of the game, think quickly and make good decisions.

The main technical educational goals of this campus are improvements in the following aspects of the game: ball control, dribbling, passes, driving and shooting (even with a weaker leg), as well as the head game, offensive techniques, defensive techniques and intelligence in football.

Requirements

It is very important not to confuse the High Technification and High Performance Marcet courses with the camps, which are taught in Spain or other countries with the sole purpose of entertaining children during their holidays. It's about courses, which do not have a defined pedagogical method and often have the shield and name of a great club as their only marketing reference. In these colonies, young people will be able - hopefully - take a picture with a famous player, visit fabulous stadiums, walking through beautiful cities, but in no case will they learn football or progress in individual technique and tactics, much less in collective terms. . For this reason, it is very important, so that parents and players are aware, that the intensity and physical and mental demands of the Marcet courses are very high.

It does not mean, that students will not enjoy learning. They experience and acquire a large number of concepts every day, skills and techniques, they are fully aware of their progress. Despite the hard work of the whole day, they look forward to the next day, because they know, that every minute they are improving as footballers and as people. That's secret, thanks to which every year dozens of Marcet students are involved in the discipline of first league clubs in Spain or Europe.

Organizational details

On the first day, students must come in the morning for the presentation of the technical team and the formation of the initial groups. A series of tests are then performed, to assess the exact level of each player and to place them in the most suitable group during the course. The teacher uses this initial test to reveal points, in which he should act more.

On the first day, the student receives an official package with a training shirt, a walking shirt, shorts and socks. Each player must come with football boots, possibly with turfs, as all pitches are made of artificial grass of the latest generation. It is better not to wear football boots during the course, because new ones tend to cause blisters. Upon completion of the course, Marcet's coaching team will provide all students with personalized assessments to determine each player's future potential.

Accommodation

Accommodation - with supervision 24 hours a day, 7 days of the week - is optional for players, who do not live in Barcelona. Students in this regime receive an extra uniform and enjoy a series of leisure activities outside of training hours, such as go-karts, laser-tag or tourist-type trips.

Standard accommodation is in rooms for at least four people. Depending on their availability and the influx of students, the offer will be adapted in several rooms with bunk beds ready for eight or more players. However, if the family wants, so that her child lives in the above-standard category (rooms for two or three students), can arrange the service with a daily supplement to the price of the course with a stay (limited offer).

For students, who travel alone, an optional airport pick-up and drop-off service is also available, railway station or on buses. It is a personalized escort and is carried out by a responsible Marcet. In case of need to extend the nights - before the beginning of the course and at the end - so, to match flight or train dates and times, it is possible to arrange additional nights in the residence.

Guaranteed training continuity

After the end of the personal campus in the summer, Marcet offers its students the opportunity to continue the training process thanks to the Illuminator program (package 1). All players, who will take part in the High Technification and High Performance courses, they will be able to continue their education for free and from home thanks to this program, which is developed through the constant exchange of information between the student and the Coach Mentor.

On the one hand, the player sends records from training sessions and/or matches, which he completes with his club, or from training at home, in Park, in the garden, at the wall, alone, with friends or family … On the other hand, Coach Mentor analyzes the material and establishes constant communication with the student via WhatsApp and Skype in order to correct their mistakes, solve their doubts, assign them new goals and ultimately guide them in the learning process, which becomes more and more autonomous over time.
